BIOGRAPHY
I grew-up on a boat in Southern California, raised by my sailboat loving father. Summers were spent with my artist mother in San Francisco learning to “see” and make art. I moved up the coast to attend San Jose Sate University where I studied graphic design and fine art. After university I moved further up the coast to Oregon and worked as a graphic designer and art director for 20 years. In 2000 I returned to fine art by way of abstract paintings.

STATEMENT
Exploring the positive and negative aspects of transformation.

My work is concerned with the imperfection of being human. Repeating shapes represent human actions, organisms or segments of time, as I explore the positive and negative aspects of growth and change. I am fascinated by the anomalies in repeating forms.

I hope to imbue each of my works with a bit of the human spirit or at least communicate something about the joy of being human even with all of our flaws.
